The International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD) organized a 10-day course on advanced document security (16-27/4/2018) for 12 officers and non-commissioned officers from the Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF), the Internal Security Forces (ISF), the Directorate General of the General Security (GS) and the Lebanese Customs Administration (LCA) within the framework of the Netherlands-funded component of the Enhanced Capability For Integrated Border Management in Lebanon (IBM Lebanon), funded by the European Union.

The course was jointly delivered by 2 trainers from the Royal Netherlands Marechaussee (KMar) and 2 from IDcentre, Netherlands. Combining the theory of security printing and production techniques with practical examination skills, the training is fully aligned with EU best practices and procedures. Importantly, the knowledge and skills transferred within the course are applicable to all types of secure documents from passports to ID cards and currency, ensuring its relevance to all of the various state agencies present.

At the end of the course participants’ performance was evaluated according to a strict pass/fail format.
