The International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD) organized 10 awareness sessions (18-22 September 2017) on Integrated Border Management (IBM) for a total of 320 officers and non-officers from the Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF), the 1st Land Border Regiment (LBR), the Internal Security Forces (ISF), the Directorate General of the General Security (GS) and the Lebanese Customs Administration (LCA)

The sessions were delivered at the 1st LBR headquarters in Chadra in northern Lebanon within the framework of the Netherlands-funded component of the Enhanced Capability For Integrated Border Management in Lebanon (IBM Lebanon), funded by the European Union.

Participants were introduced to the theory and practice of the IBM concept and how it is being applied within the Lebanese context, with a special focus on the LAF.

Additional sessions will be implemented in the coming weeks for the 2nd, 3rd and 4th and Land Border Regiments.
