The International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD) organized from 11 to 15 September 2017 2 Imposters and Documents (ID) courses which were delivered to a total of 28 participants from the Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF) within the framework of the Netherlands-funded component of the Enhanced Capability For Integrated Border Management in Lebanon (IBM Lebanon), funded by the European Union.

The courses were delivered at the Araman military base in northern Lebanon and the Rayak airbase in the Bekaa by 6 LAF trainers (officers and non-officers) from the 1st and 2nd Land Border Regiments, and who had been trained by the NL component.  Both courses were implemented under the monitoring of an expert from the Royal Netherlands Marechaussee (KMar) with whom the ICMPD has been collaborating over ID courses and training.

The courses were very successful in terms of achieving their main goals: continuing the delivery of much-needed operational border management skills to IBM beneficiaries; and supporting the sustainability of training by transferring delivery responsibilities entirely to LAF trainers.
